Community Outreach Committee

The Community Outreach Committee is the community service arm of the California Western Student Bar Association. The Community Outreach Committee (COC) harbors over 100 student volunteers and organizes their efforts into different community services projects around San Diego. Our largest programs include after-school tutoring programs at San Diego High School and reading programs at Porter Elementary.

The COC also assists in running a peer advisory court at San Diego High School and individual mentor groups for troubled high school students. Your Service is Important – Volunteering is a great way to get involved and make lasting connections with your peers and with people in need. Students at California Western School of Law come from many different backgrounds. Yet we all share a passion and committement to serve our community through both the law and through our non-legal efforts in the Community.

Because of the efforts and participation of the COC, California Western School of Law has been nominated for community service awards. It is estimated that the COC organized students into 250 hours of community services for our Fall 2009 community service projects.
